Kathryn BeetVinyasa and Therapeutic Yoga
Kathryn founded Yogaspace in Toronto, twenty years ago. She holds a degree in Dance Therapy and Education and spent her early post grad years working as a choreographer, producer and director in alternative and mainstream theatre. She has been a movement educator and yoga teacher for close to thirty years, ten of which, she was also a busy Doula. As director of teacher training at Yogaspace for the past seventeen years, she has graduated close to a thousand yoga teachers at the 200 hour level. Kathryn created the Therapeutic Yoga Program at Yogaspace eight years ago. The program orients to individuals from all walks of life including individuals living with cancer, insomnia, anxiety, depression, post-trauma and those recovering from surgery, as well as anyone simply looking for a deeply restorative, healing, inspiring and meditative experience. She has been training graduate teachers in Therapeutic Yoga seven years. Kathryn also teaches large group Vinyasa classes that are smart, playful, inspiring, comical and a lot of fun. She weaves a variety of complimentary movement disciplines into her Vinyasa sequences, which are seamlessly orchestrated alongside masterful playlists. She is a passionate, articulate and sensitive teacher who does whatever she has to, to make the practice enjoyable and attainable to everyone in the room and her strong communication skills provide her with the ability to explain subtle aspects of the practice in ways that anyone can understand. Kathryn has been leading International yoga retreats in Mexico and Europe for the past 15 years.
